ah that makes more sense, now just leave it and test daily to see how fast it drops...no water changes, no tank or filter cleaning.

i got the instructions from a site called "The (almost) complete guide to fishless cycling" I started by adding pure ammonia i had a bubble wand and some filter media from an established tank. The water stayed at 4ppm for 2 months because it never went down I never added ammonia . it just recently started to change after I changed the heater to one with a temperature gauge and stopped adding conditioner to the water. two days ago i added ammonia and in 24 hours I had 4ppm ammonia 5ppm nitrite and 10 nitrate today it is back to all zeros....

What is your water source, tap water?

What water conditioner do you use? (again)?

I think so with enough ammiona to being you up to 1 ppm. In moring retest and do again about 7 pm or so. To see change after 24 hrs. Then let us know what happened.
    Fishes go "pook pook"

I'm going to just toss out there what Slap suggested to me when I was at all Zeros and thought I was stalled.

I miss read the directions for how long and how hard to shake the NitrAtes bottle then shaking it even more after mixing it with the tank water. I shook that *&*(&!# thing till my arm was sore and finally got my Nitrate reading. The tank was cycled and had been for no telling how long ;-)
    just food for thought
