Thread: My cycle

    Default My cycle

I had originally taken the Carbon out of my filter because I was dosing my plants with CO2. Should I add it back to my filter for the cycle or it does not matter?

    image.jpgammonia is 2.0 ppm
    Nitrite 2.0-5.0 ppm

Personally, I don't use carbon at all. It is completely useless you are using it to leach medication out of the water. So I save some carbon for those instances when I'm finished with a round of medication. Other than that I leave it out. The rest of my filtering is good enough.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

    +1 to the above

Carbon will have no effect on your cycle. You are better off with having more biological filter media instead.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Today July 25

Yesturday I repdosed .5ml of ammonia in my 20g. Today the ammonia went back up

    Ammonia .5ppm
    Nitrite 2-5ppm

Today I added another .5ml of Ammonia. Do I add .5 of ammonia every day or just when that dose goes back down to 0?
