I was given a shrimp by my friend because he was getting rid of his tank. so unfortunately I donnot have the exact name but the shrimp is see through and has a orange brown tail.

Well my tank is a corner tank and is fairly high so I dont know is that whats frekaing him out ( doesnt make sense !! ) !!!??
    My temp is at 76-68
    ph is normal 7.0
the water isnt dirty this is a new tank which has been running fora month with plants and aswell has over 20 tetras which are doing great with angel fish.

I saw it could be because of lack of oxygen but I have a wave maker pushing the air bubbles from my two hang-on back filters.

Is it too much filtration, lighting i dont know.

He simply stays at the top on the back of my wavemaker or my filtration tube.

You have to give him/her time to get used to their new home before they will feel safe enough to come out in the open a lot.

I would give it a few days to a week and see what happens
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I'm assuming it's an Amano shrimp, it could be easily identifiable with pictures. Shrimp are usually very skittish when you first put them in because they are exploring around the tank looking for an area to stay. After a while it should act normal, like Cliff said.

As long as it has an area to hide under and nothing to attack it, it should be perfectly fine. Amano shrimp can actually come to the surface of the tank during feeding, so that should be a sign it is an Amano.

If it is small enough to fit into the angel's mouth, it could be avoiding the angel.

    Angels love shrimp.
