    Ok. So after handling the leaves a bit, it fell apart!! I took it all apart, removed the hot glue and put aquarium silicone instead and put extra around the edges to seal it well. Going to let it dry and try again tomorrow.

    I got a fluval plant which had floating water lillies on it and cut them off. They are floating nicely and don't get submerged at all!

    Can you post some pics of those floating water lilies? They sound interesting.

    When you buy it at the store it looks like this, it looks a lot better in person, didn't get to take a pic before cutting mine up, you can use all the other plants too so it doesn't go to waste.

    I cut off the lillies, only 2 float, and it looks like this in the tank.

    Nice idea. At first I thought it was the hot glue that was going to float, then I saw the foam.

    Thanks! I also used some black Krylon satin paint to spray paint them and it works as well. If the pieces are decent sizes, they don't get pulled under by the HOB. And aquarium silicone works, the hot glue falls apart.
    I watch fish. Really. I just sit and stare.
