I don't think there is room for a proper school of both fish. I would stick with the chili rasbora and get a nice number. Cherry shrimp require pretty much the same stuff as fish...clean water and food. They would be fine in the tank.20 gallon with a male betta, neons, glowlights, and red cherry shrimp. (work in progess) Recently added a few LIVE plants and driftwood, Woooohoooo!

The rcs would be fine but u need some kind of live plant for them, u can't do neons in a five gallon but the chillis would be fine or a small gourami like a sparkling or maybe a honey gourami the sparkling would be best but u could only have that or maybe two.A true aquarist knows what it feels like to step on a sharp piece of gravel

I think if someone thinks clownfish are called nemos they should banned from keeping sw tank.

I have chilis in another 5.5 gal and they are about the same size as the Boraras urophthalmoides. So I think they would be OK with the RCS.
They don't tightly school, but mine are usually hanging together, with an occasional trip around the tank alone.
I have no experience with neons, though. And you could add more 2-3 shrimp. I started with about 15-18.
I provide algae and veggie wafers for the shrimp, and they will also eat leftover fish flakes if there are any.

nope cherry shrimp with other fishes are a bad idea but providing you give them lots of cover they will do fine java moss willow etc will do just fine
Im not too sure about them with neon tetras BUUUUUUUUUUTTTT as far i know they are the perfect tank mates for shrimp
So a 5 gallon with 6 of those and some RCS wont so bad right :P
