I have no choice but to "Cycle With Fish". Can I put the Water Conditioner in at this point in time, with Fish in Tank?
And how often should I do water changes? And how much Water?

As mentioned, you need a water test kit, pronto...lots of us use this, with great success: http://www.amazon.com/API-Freshwater...aster+test+kit

What water conditioner do you have?

At the very least, change out at least 1/2 of that tank of water with TREATED fresh water, match the temp as closely as possible...can you get us a pic of that tank?

Most importantly, have you read and understood the "cycling with fish" sticky?

Do this every day until you get the test kit.

Once you have the test kit you need to change enough water to keep the ammonia and nitrite down to under .25ppm, this may mean changing water every other day, or it may mean changing water several times every day. IMO there is nothing wrong with cycling with fish, but you MUST do it correctly and be very diligent with the water changes.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

That's the Test Kit I Ordered. Great!
I don't have a Water Conditioner. Tomorrow I will get one.
So if I understand correctly, Change half Water in Tank & Replace with Tap Water of Similar Temperature Treated with the Water Conditioner.
    Is that right?
Do I do this every few days?

I will try & post a Picture. Have to Figure Out How! :-)

Thanks to all who Replied to this Thread. Greatly appreciated.

You are correct except do it every day. Once the test kit arrives you will test to see how often you need to change water.

If you have NO water conditioner, wait to change the water until you do. Get the Prime I mentioned, if you can.

Just want to add, don't let this cycling of the tank deter you from the hobby. In the beginning, especially, patience is really important to get things started properly and to end up with a great community tank. Yes, you'll be changing more water more often than perhaps you even thought about. And testing, testing. But once you have the properly cycled tank, it's generally a 50% water change and a little filter maintenance once a week to maintain the proper conditions.

And feel free to keep asking your questions - even about stocking your tank once you get through the cycle. You'll want to consider compatibility and numbers of fish when you get to that point later. Just have fun.

How come you aren't using a dechlorinator? Do you use well water or is there only chlorine in your water? If only chlorine then aging the water is fine, but if the water company uses chloramines you need to use a good dechlorinator. Most dechlorinators on the market are fine, but most of us here use Prime because it is cheaper per use.
