You ever visit another fishkeeper?
I do so very rarely but I'm currently in the UK and was only an hour's drive from someone who I've known via the internet for quite a few years. So I stopped at his place to swap an A. claro and have a look at his tanks. About 20 tanks... I think 8 different species of cories most of which had bred right there and all very stunningly health. 3 different kinds of pencil fish, more l-numbers than I could count. Fully grown spanner barbs, at least 3 different species of earth eaters..
I was quite impressed. Snapped a few pics here and there but wow!

I used to visit the guy who gave me my 29g. It was the only tank he had and it wasn't very impressive. It had two each of 5 or 6 different types of tetra and rasbora, 27 panda cory, and two common pleco, one was about 8 inches and the other 12. I stared at that tank for years thinking, if only I could get my hands on that tank lol.
Other than that, Lab_Rat, who is/was a member here, and I went to a couple fish auctions and shared a couple Craigslist deals when she lived in San Antonio, but we never went to each others homes for some reason. If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

I live in a small(ish) city so most of us fish keepers that are somewhat serious know each and have seen each other's tanks. There a group of about 6 of that trade back and forth a lot as well. Most of us have gotten to know each through frequenting the only two LFSs in the city are somewhat goodIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I was a member of a reef club in Barrie that held the odd meeting in people's homes...so we always got to talk fish shop and look at tanks...
I've floated the notion here once that if Cliff ever flew into Toronto that we should meet somewhere (not necessarily at someones house) and visit!
