That really sucks... Terribly sorry for all of the losses.
I myself don't QT for one reason.
All of the fish stores I buy from are ran by experts and put NFS on sick fish, even if they don't seem sick. I have got ich a few times, but carefully examining the fish the whole day after you buy them does prove to be rewarding. Now, if I am questioning the fish's condition right after I purchase, I do QT.
I no longer buy fish from PetSmart, though. Even though I have had excellent luck with them, the fish they get in are always in bad condition.

Sorry to hear about your loss. This hobby can be very frustrating sometimes.
Just this last week I popped on some pristella tetra from a pet supplies plus and luckily I qt'd them bc two days later they all had visible signs of ich. Today when I returned the 6/7 dead pristellas I looked at the rest of their stock and 90% of the tanks had ich.

Sorry to hear about the tough luck
I too had to learn this same lesson the hard way years ago. QT tanks are certainly a pain in the backside, but well worth the effort in the long run.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Per, I am so sorry to hear about your losses...heart sick for you my friend as I know the great care you give to your fish but am proud that you came here to let everyone know what can happen without proper qt even to experienced fish keepers with a good eye for possible issues. I've been so tempted to do the same in the past but this reminds me just how much it's never worth the chance as if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.
I'm sending good thoughts that your ebjd pulls through and am glad Chris could be there to help._______________________________________________
