  1. Default Looking for info on two-spot cats

    Hi, all.

I am considering trying to find some two-spot catfish for my 55g aquarium. I have read Dave's excellent primer, and several other sources, but they seem to be not very well known, and I am finding some contradictory info on them. Anybody around here keep these little guys?

How big to they really get? (I've read everything from 2" to 6") Do they need to be kept in groups, or are they OK flying solo? How predatory are they? How many could I keep in a 55g without overcrowding them?

Any firsthand info out there would be greatly appreciated!

You could probably find some really good info on locating these guys over at Planet Catfish.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

Yep, Mystus bimaculatus. Should have included it--there seem to be several "two spot catfish" out there.

That article is one of several I have read. Really might have to try to find a couple of these little guys.

Check aquabid, even if they aren't listed in an auction one or more of the sellers on there may have some available if you check their stocklists.

    ^^^^Please click the eggs/dragons, thanks.
