Or at least to me that is. lol

So over the weekend I visited a rather exceptional botanical garden. One of the features was a bonsai section that was maintained by a local bonsai club. It just so happened that the "Bonsai Masters" where there that day doing some general maintenance, care, and answering questions from curious plant enthusiasts like myself. I really enjoyed the experience. This got me thinking about us fishkeepers. How cool would it be if public aquariums offered up some space for a local club to come in and set up small biotopes and aquascapes. I think it would be a great way to not just introduce but to also educate people on this hobby. Maybe some places already do this but I've not seen such a thing yet.

I'd love to be apart of something like that. Even though the Tennessee Aquarium is only an hour away there isn't a single freshwater fish club in this area. Or at least one that advertises online. Sad cause I'd like to join one.

    Our club actually does this

Its called a "Bowl Show", the members set up small tanks and fish at a public location for a few days and pretty much hang out, answer questions and awards are handed out for either best fish, best scape etc

If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

I'd love to. Maybe when my son is a little older. I would imagine trying to start a fish club would be a big job. He's eight months old. I can only handle one big job at a time right now. hahaha

That's the biggest and most important one. I did not go back to officiating high school sports till my youngest was 13.

It is something I would love to do though. In case you haven't noticed I'm a rather social person. A club would be just the ticket.

What part of Tennessee are you in Compass? Whenever you get that club set up, I'd love to help and be apart of. In 4-5 yrs I'd be done with school and would have a more steady job so by the time you son is older would be the perfect time for me!
