My platy is pregnant and I don't know when she's going to have them.
    Here are some pics.

She looks like she's going to pop and has a really big dark spot.
Does that help? Is anyone going to answer?

Is anyone going to answer me? Her vent is white and I read that that might mean she's going to have her babies soon.

Sorry for the late replies. Things get lost sometimes among all the posts. She looks like it'll be soon. I don't know if there is a definite "today is the day." But I've read it can be up to 28 days from the initial mating.

Well there was no initial mating. She had babies about 4-5 weeks ago and I don't own a male platy. In fact she's the only platy I had at the time. I got her like 3 months ago and she was pregnant when I got her. So she got pregnant from left over sperm.

Then I'd say she's about due. Congrats on the little babies. :)

Thanks! Platy Lovers is raising the babies for me.
I heard that some have died lately because the Ph or something was weird.
Oh yeah! I saw that you were one of the ones that answered her! Remember? The babies that looked like their brains exploded. I hope some of them survive but I heard that most babies don't survive to adulthood.

Ha! Yes indeed. Well I hope Platy Lovers gets things stable and figures out how to keep the rest well. :)

You were right Compass! My platy had 24 babies last night!
I took her out of the breeder tank because she looked like she was done and I didn't want her to eat any of the babies.
(she ate one last time she had babies)
