  1. Question Crayfish questions

I was thinking about get a little crayfish but I'm worried about my mystery snails...there's three of them, and they just laid some eggs. I know the crayfish will eat slow moving animals, but will it eat all of my snails? Will it leave the bigger adults alone and ignore the babies or visa versa? If I kept it well fed, will it still devastate my snail population??

they will at least attempt to eat all your snails. the babies i would say are goners but the adults i would give a small chance to survive...

Really depends on the crayfish, MARMORKREBS, or MARBLED crayfish are fairly small and would not mess with most other animals. I have a few and they dont mess with my snails or cherry shrimp at all.

Crawfish are omnivoiurs, but mostly eat plant vegitaion. Now a standard wild crawfish will eat anythign it can catch.

I doubt it would eat all of your snails. If I had do describe a crayfish's eating habits I would classify it as a timid omnivore scavenger. They tend to be pretty opportunistic when it comes to food. I don't think it would put enough work to harm anything large. If you are really worried about it though, stick to other inverts like RCS or bamboo shrimp.

Yeah... a crayfish is unlike to do a lot of work for a live snail if there's a piece of dead fish to snack on.
