Default Stocking... How to make this work....

    0 Not allowed!
So.... I have 4 tanks to work with here....

    30g breeder and 3 10g

Here is the list of fish I have available, all of which I'd like to breed:
    10 young sterbai
    8 chili rasbora
    10 Cory habroseus
    4 blue gularis
    Red cherry shrimp
    1 L333 pleco (young)
And possibly a pair of Chromaphyosemion poliaki monea

Conditions: I would like at least 2 of the 10g to still be "show like", meaning not like this

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398823678.054442.jpg

    But more like this

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398823693.010525.jpg

How can I arrange these fish to have the best odds of getting fry using the 4 tanks I have...

    Current thoughts:
Maybe the gularis with the sterbai in the 30g breeder...
Then the new killi in 1 10, and the other two be lightly stocked??

I don't know much about chili rasboras or their breeding habits, but could you put them with the habroseus? I just don't know if one or the other would bother the fry.
Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

Yep, those 2 should be good together. Both "micro" fish that are egg layers

I think your biggest challenge will be how to stop the hypacistrus from eating all the eggs he can find before you find them. This is how I would break them up.
    30g
    Hypancistrus
    Sterbei
Both of these fish need the footprint of the 30g. That doesn't make much of a showy fish tank though.

    10g
    one of the killi species

    10g
    one of the killi species

    10g
chili rasbora, these could also be in the 30g to give it a bit more show
    hasbroseus
    shrimp
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

yea, I think we are on the same path here. Only swap I was think would be the red cherry shrimp in the 30g to give them more room

Didn't realize the L333 was an egg eater.

Hypancistrus are omnivorous and most fish are opportunistic feeders. My guess is he will come out at night and eat up as many eggs as he can find.
You posted your stocking thoughts while I was thinking about and posting mine. It does seem like we are thinking along the same lines. I think I would put the endlers in the 30g and leave the killi's alone. The reason is because breeders usually use a breeding mop for the fish to put their eggs on, if a mop is not used the killi's will attach the eggs on plants, this would leave the endlers a nice buffet. I think it would be better to give them a tank of their own, but that is just my opinion.

Yea I'm debating selling the endlers because of how prolific they are lol

I'm trying to figure a nice way to decorate a killi tank that will provide the security they like, yet still look good.

I used blackwater extract on the gularis tank and they seem to love it.

Thinking for the middle tank I might do the following

White sand, root tabs, and then scatter the vals I have all around and have a few pieces of cholla wood on the bottom. Thinking that might be a natural killifish heaven
