Nitrates are still sky high. I'll continue to test daily and dose where necessary. Seems to have part cycled by it's self. Now I'm paying attention, hopefully it will be done soon!
Special thank you to mommy1, KevinVA and slaphppy7 for all the help, it has not been easy!

Now that you are paying attention it is going to seem like time is standing still. Nitrates will continue to rise as the cycle progresses, that is what is supposed to happen and since you don't have any fish in the tank, you don't have to worry about them. When cycling with ammonia we test for nitrates just to know they are there because that is the good indicator of how well the cycle is progressing. Nitrites will continue to rise for a while then start to drop. This is the hardest part of the cycle to get through because it usually takes the longest to see any progress. As long as the nitrates are rising, you know the nitrites are being converted and the cycle is progressing.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Precisely. Don't worry about trAtes for now, they're gonna be high...doesn't hurt since there's no fish in there

Keep up your regimen of checking and dosing ammonia, you'll get there....the LONGEST part of the cycle is usually getting those dang trItes to 0

My fishless cycle took 5 weeks

Sorry...rookie mistake! I meant nitrites not trates -_-

But yeah it's been 3 weeks already, bit longer won't harm.

I'll test both again tomorrow and see where I stand. Be nice to see the trites going down!

Ammonia is indeed at 2ppm (after dosing today) TRITES are still maxed but TRATES are now 20ppm

    That good?
