I'm jealous of your QT tank -- it looks lovely!! Glad you showed it all set up (dry) so we could see. I actually now want one just like that to put a Betta in.

I learned from your pic that the heaters don't have to stick up out of the water at the top like I'd assumed. Mine's hard to reach back and adjust the temp, anyhow (Eheim Heater Jager 125 Watt) so may as well mount it differently. Your angle mount idea is something I'd like to copy. I know mine said "Fully submersible" in the packaging, but I'm just nervous about cords under water, I guess. Hmm, maybe I should wait until you put water in yours and don't short circuit the place first...

They are perfectly fine under water. All mine are totally submerged. One is completely horizontal along the bottom of the tank.

The problem here, the days you want to sell them are the days you won't get much for them.

Also, I wouldn't completely submerse an electronic device that doesn't specifically say it is submersible, and none of you will ever convince me it is ok.

When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Dear naps, sorry I hated you so much when I was a child... Love me

*laughs* Those are the days when you daydream about paying someone else to take them and tire out their little legs -- usually matching the tired brains, which was the start of the problem to begin with...

Thanks RG. I'll be filling it up today and getting that cycle going. I'll give it a filter squeeze and see how long it takes to cycle. Not too long I hope.

Oh man Dan! I went to my LFS today and they had filament barbs. Never seen them before. Beautiful fish! But they get too big for either of our set ups =/
