Great pictures Scotty. Hope you can post more, that water looks incredible and it appears you saw a lot of cool fish along with the lionfish. Lionfish have become quite an invasive nuisance around parts of our coast, are they as bad in the Maldives.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Yeah I know they are wreaking havoc in places around the world, however they are native to the Maldives, so I got to see them in their natural environment. I found 3 species there, however apparently a 4th has been seen off of the island I was on.

Very nice! I love that third picture in post #5.

A while ago I read an article about the volitans off the coast of Florida, it said they were not just overweight, but obese from all the food available to them there. Apparently obesity is not very common in wild fish, it was a big concern (pun intended) for the people studying the fish there.

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

When in doubt, do a water change.

Yeah Florida are getting hit bad with them the now, they basically have no predators there so they just act like a vacuum cleaner. Infact This month Florida have changed some laws around to help getting rid of them, like removing spearfishing bans on certain areas, only for catching lionfish anyway. As well as running competitions for capturing them etc, the more knowledge for the public the better. We seen P.voilitans, P.antenata and P.radiata. radiata being my favourite. They were a hassle to find and photograph, not easy snorkelling down to 7-10m and looking on the roofs of caves for them!!
