Should I strip my Red Zebra? She spits 1 or 2 out and sucks them back in. This is her first time holding and she just wont let go! They are free swimming with no egg sack. The only reason why I want to strip them is because it's been 3 days and I don't want the fry to starve. She's in a breeder net.

Why is she in a breeder net? Are there other inhabitants in the tank?

yes, she may be holding on to them cuz there's no where for the fry to hide...if she doesn't feel safe, she won't be keen on letting them go.

    Yes Kevin, there's other inhabitants.
I put my powder blue in here and she spit with no problems. Who says fish aren't different?

No one I know. lol Every fish I have behaves in a different manner and various cichlids will carry/take care of their young in various ways.

Btw, it's fantastic that you're able to breed your fish so readily. Congrats on the fry.

If you have a grow-out tank, I'd throw the mom w/ fish in there. Otherwise, I'd let them roam.

I would strip to an egg tumbler personally. I dont like the fish holding for long periods. It can make them weak without food for a time being in a very harassing environment.
