My nano is cycled and ready for fish (my betta is due in the post on Friday 11th) but for some reason my tank water is still cloudy. I did a 50% water change today but it didnt help. Here is a pic:

Any idea why its not clear?

29 Gallon: Super Dragon Betta, Neon Tetras, Honey Gourami, Rummy Nose Tetra, Checker barbs, Bolivian Ram, Otocinclus, African Filter Shrimp,

Your tank looks great. I would say that the cloudiness will clear up with time.

I know this has nothing to do with your question but I keep looking at that picture and I can't figure out why those scissors look like they are slightly under your tank. What's up with that?
Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

Doesn't look that bad to me from that pic. It could be caused by many things, but it's generally harmless and will clear in time. Don't fret over it.

Thanks, well its been cloudy all the way through the cycling process, I even put some thick pad in my filter to try and catch the floating particles but it didnt help.

And the tank has feet so there is a small gap underneath it :)

It isnt super cloudy, just slightly hazing. It isnt that bad but I cant help but keep comparing it to my main tank why is crystal clear.

The heterotrophic bacteria population is growing due to organic compunds in the tank. As the as organic compounds are consumed, the population will decrease and the cloudiness will go away. I noticed green algae on the driftwood. Green algae death will contribute to the organic compounds. Just give it time.

Ah right I see. Well in any case I did a large water change earlier to get rid of some of the algae on the plants and at least for now the cloudiness has cleared up quite a bit:

29 Gallon: Super Dragon Betta, Neon Tetras, Honey Gourami, Rummy Nose Tetra, Checker barbs, Bolivian Ram, Otocinclus, African Filter Shrimp,

Well I got my Betta today, he seems fine and healthy but he's still stressed. He has been in the tank for around 12 hours and he mostly just sits at the bottom, occasionally darting up for air. I guess its understandable when you consider the 4 day journey he took coming all the way from Thailand, but its still concerning seeing a fish behaving like this. How long could it be til he settles in?

Tank and fish are beautiful. Not sure about settling in time for a Betta. I would check your water parameters just to be sure they are good.
