I'll leave it out then, just to be on the safe side.

As promised, here is my mini guide.

    Borneowild Shrimp Substrate
This is a soil made form natural earth which contains essential vitamins and minerals for the shrimp. It also buffers the water to a ph between 5.5-6.5 whilst maintaining stable gh and kh.

    Borneowild Enlive
This product matures the substrate and replenishes bacteria lost during water changes. This is important in low ph tanks as it is more difficult for filtration bacteria to establish.

    Borneowild Minerax
This slowly releases essential minerals and vitamins into the water.

    Borneowild Bebi
This is a fine powder food which provides essential nutrients for shrimps of all ages. It also helps to mature the tank and encourage biofilm and microorganisms growth with form the base of a shrimps diet.

    Borneowild Shield
This is a very special product. It enhances shrimp immunity and improves survival rate by improving water quality and absorbing toxins.

    Borneowild Spinach
Contains a wide range of vitamins, minerals and acids to form part of a healthy shrimp diet.

    Borneowild Barley
Promotes growth in the shrimp and improves water quality. Doesn't spoil the water so leftovers can be left in the tank without any worries.

    Borneowild Minerock
Releases important vitamins and minerals into the water. Improves water quality through ionic exchange. Also absorbs toxins.

    Borneowild Bee Balls
Ceramic carbon balls. These absorb toxins and improves water quality.

    Azoo Bioballs
Slow release of bacteria to keep the tank in tip top shape.

    Azoo Nitraact
Breaks down organic waste in the substrate.

    20140411_173213.jpg
I began by dosing enlive, nitraact, bebi and minerax at the bottom of the tank before adding substrate. This will help mature the substrate and provide a good foundation to the tank.

    20140411_173923.jpg
After adding the first 8kg of substrate, I dosed the midlayer with the same mixture as the bottom of the tank. Again this will help mature the substrate and provide a good foundation to the tank.

    20140411_174207.jpg
After adding the other 8kg of substrate, I ended up with a depth of 9cm. I know some of you may say this is way too excessive, but there is method behind the madness. The idea is, in combination with the substrate turning power of MTS, organic waste gets transferred to the lower layers of the substrate where it is as far away from the shrimp as possible. This also allows the bacteria and products dosed into the substrate to break down the organic waste before it decreases water quality.

    20140411_193306.jpg
As you can see, the bee balls, minerock and azoo bioballs are then placed amongst the decor where they are most efficient.

After 18 hours at cycling with 1ppm ammonia my test results are:
0.25ppm ammonia (api test kit maybe giving false reading, usually does with my tap water
0.25ppm nitrite (only slightly darker than 0.00 colour so recorded 025ppm for benefit of doubt)
    40ppm nitrate

So yea I am quite pleased with these results. I will dose back up to 1ppm then test again in 24 hours.

I must say I am liking the look of the Monosolenium tenerum in my tank. Hopefully it will get established and become nice and bushy :D

I'm kind of confused now. After I added my second dose of ammonia to bring it back up to 1ppm, my cycle seems to have stalled.
Readings are now and have been for the last few days:

    Ammonia: 1.00
    Nitrtrite: 2.00

This little tank is looking so nice, you've done excellent research to set it up

As far as the cycle goes, I'm not quite sure what to think...I see you have an airstone going...what is the temp?

The fishless cycle sticky suggests a much warmer temperature than that (82F-27, 28C)...I would crank up the temp if I were you

The BB apparently grow faster with warmer, well oxygenated water, so I think it's the right thing to do...also may be a good idea to review the fishless cycle, I know you have done it before, but nothing wrong with a refresher course
