i have a green terror and have had him for over a year now. this morning i was up at 5am to let my dog out. i turned on one of out aquarium lights and the gt was pink! he looked like an albino. i have never seen him do this. is this normal? do they turn colors when they sleep? he is back to his normal coloring now, but the pink was a huge surprise!

It's common for fish to go pale when the lights are out and they "sleep". Since he has never done this I think you should test the water parameters in the tank and see if anything is off, just to play it safe. When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Could It be that you turned on the lights particularly early? My lights are on a timer and my fish usually color up a few minutes before lights on as there is a fixed schedule. If the lights go on early, then they would still be pale.
