After months and months of explaining to my dad that a 10 litre tank is nowhere near big enough to house a betta and 5 neons, I have finally got through to him.
Went to pick up a 94 litre tank yesterday and cycled it with placing the old tank's media into the filter. We also went and got 6 more neons and 7 rummy nose tetras which are currently in quarantine.

It was quite easy once I showed him pictures of scapes in bigger tank. He now fancies himself as a bit of a scaper haha

    Thank you :D
The rummys were my idea as I have always liked them but never had them. Quite a nice contrast to the neons. The betta is going crazy since he has never had this much space before haha

Congratulations! I hope you gave a nice thank you to your dad, 10 liters to 94 liters is a nice upgrade. That is a lot of fish to add all at once, be sure to monitor the water parameters and watch for ammonia spikes.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

Unfortunately the tank isn't mine but I wish it was haha. The 10 litre was his and I kept going on and on at him for ages and finally got him to upgrade. I gave him some extra filter media from my tank , in combination with the media from the 10 litre, to hopefully prevent spikes. I'll make sure he monitors for spikes though just to be on the safe side.
