    Do they sell plants at Garden Centres that could be used in aquariums?

    I doubt it. At least here in the states. I would assume the only ones they would have would be plants for ponds. So mostly floating plants that might be too large (lily pads and such) for the average aquarium. I frequent many garden centers in my area and I've not seen aquarium plants.
    Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.

    You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

    Mine has quite a few useable species in the pond plants section. There's also some marsh plants that could work if you have an open topped tank
