You might want to price out all the equipment you need before deciding to switch over. Saltwater can have pretty high start up costs, and if you are on a tight budget, unless you can get the equipment used even a 14gal tank can get expensive pretty quick.

Smaller tanks are also harder to maintain than larger ones, as they are less forgiving of environmental swings.

Have you checked on how much live rock costs per pound where you are?
At a minimum, you will either need enough live rock to do your filtering for you (approx 10lbs), or you will need a good filter for the tank.
You will need a couple powerheads to create flow, suitable substrate, lighting, a heater, a saltwater test kit. You will need suitable water for top ups, plus a tote or container for the seawater you will keep on hand for weekly water changes. That's the bare minimum.
Other equipment you may need are a hydrometer, uv sterilizer, a skimmer, a sump or HOB refugium, perhaps a TDS meter. High quality water is a must for saltwater, problems arise very quickly if parameters are unbalanced.

A firefish is a good choice for your tank - a 14 gal doesn't give you a lot of options for fish as saltwater fish generally need more room than freshwater do. Read all the stickies here on the saltwater forum - there is one on equipment, cycling - all kinds of good stuff.
