He's Growing Up!
So my male GBR that I purchase about a month or two ago is starting to get bigger. He's around 2"-2.5" in length. He's really gorgeous and his colors are getting more vibrant as the days go by. He's still very young, only around 5-6 months old, and being that I purchased him from a breeder that does not inbreed or inject hormones he's still not his adult size nor does he have his full adult colors.
Here are some pics, they're not great but he's very active and explores the entire tank constantly. It took me nearly 3 hours to capture these 5 crappy photos:

Thank you!! The edges on his dorsal and caudal fins was originally a pinkish-red, much like a Bolivian Ram, but over the past couple weeks its slowly becoming more and more red. He's really a gorgeous, fun little fish. I don't know why people are so afraid to purchase them. As long as you buy from a breeder who does not inbreed or inject hormones then they're really easy fish to keep.

He's a nice looking fish. Most people don't buy from breeders so the fish they get aren't as hardy as they can be, or as nice looking. When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Thanks so much! @mommy1 I purchased mine from www.germanbluerams.com They're a private breeder based in Florida. There fish are sold for the around the same price, if not cheaper, than fish sold in fish stores and their fish aren't inbred or injected with hormones. My GBR is probably the most active fish I have and is absolutely gorgeous. He still does not have his adult colors and he's just a bit bigger than 2" but he's a gorgeous fish and its nice seeing him grow and develop.
