I couldn't handle the dry heat. Give me humidity any day! Gotta let my gills breath. The only reason I'm not in Florida is cost of living. Had a hard time finding a job when I got out of college and it was just cheaper for me to stay here than to move back. One day though, one day.

Thanks Sandz! lol I don't think the wife would take to kindly to that at the moment. We just moved and all. If we have to pack up one more time I think she'll kill me.

A tip I got from Mother Earth News years ago works great on keeping those wild critters out of your garden, save your hair from haircuts, from your hair brush or visit your local barber to get some and just sprinkle some of it around your garden and the scent of it scares the critters away...
    .
You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

I have heard that but not tried it myself. Thanks for bringing this back to my attention. :)

A few slices of fresh cucumber does the same thing in a pan. Lasts for a month or two at a time.

Now that is one I've not heard. I'm attempting to grow cucumbers, I'm sure I'll have a few left extra as they can be quite prolific.

Years ago during a camping trip a forest ranger gave a show all about snakes, according to him if you were out in the woods and smelled cucumbers it meant there was a copperhead snake nearby and you needed to be careful so it could work, going to give it a try, nice tip...

All I'm thinking is, what if they're are wild cucumbers and copperheads like to hang out around them? One never knew cause you wouldn't get too close to the smell. I'll lay out cucumbers and the next morning I'll have a pile of copperheads!!!
