Default Cherry shrimp with betta in 5 gallon?

    0 Not allowed!
Just wondering if it'd be possible to keep a few cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon planted tank with betta, or would the betta eat them?

27 Gallon planted: Super Dragon Betta, Neon Tetras, Honey Gourami, Rummy Nose Tetra, Checker barbs, Bolivian Ram, Otocinclus, Amano shrimp, Assassin snails.

75 Gallon Reef: Ocellaris Clownfish pair, Firefish, Royal Gramma, Bangaii Cardinal, Midas Blenny, Coral Beauty Angelfish, Cleaner Shrimp, 18+ crabs and snails

if there is plenty of plant cover for them they will be grand. I've got them in with my betta and ive hundreds. I do see him trying to hunt them but they bounce out of the way before he gets them. Im sure he does manage to catch a few of the babies that are barely visible but plenty seem to survive as my numbers are always constant.

flip a coin... thats about the best odds you will get, some betta won't care, others will hunt them to extinction... it seems to be a fish by fish basis

If you want a safer bet, try a few Amano Shrimp. Mine coexist just fine with my Betta.

It is going to be fairly heavily planted so hopefully i'll pick a betta that doesnt have a taste for shrimp! I have amano's in my 29 gallon but IMO they get too big to put in a 5 gallon, plus I think cherry/crystal red shrimp look stunning in a small nano planted setup.
