I love the smell of rain after a dry spell!! Its breezy and cold and rainy...loving it. Now that its close to "dunkin'" time, I'm a little nervous....isn't that silly?

Another question, do Betta's do well in deeper water? I mean they are typically shallow water fish, but they are obviously farm raised, but I see that they need to be close to the surface, and they have these pitiful little fins...am I worrying again? I thought so.

I turned my heater down to 76 to match the 10ga. I hope it reaches that temp by tomorrow morning. Yay, I'm gonna have fish in the 46!

Actually you are right to worry about the betta in deeper water/faster current. They are not strong swimmers and do not like strong current. But, so long as there are areas in the tank that aren't churned up, and there are resting places for them (like a plant or decoration they can sit on or near) then they will acclimate. Deep water is not so much of a problem - I think their natural habitat can at least in spots be as deep as a tank really - 3 or 4 ft is not really that deep - but the current is something you will need to keep in mind. You will be able to tell by his behavior how well he is dealing with conditions.

He seems okay with the current. He's already found a plant he can "lanquish" upon..

Everything went smoothly, with the help of my wonderful husband...he's truly a good guy. All the fish are ensconsed in their new home, all are accounted for.

For the first time I am seeing my fish "schooling". It is fun to watch. I can't wait to add to their numbers.
Lets see if I can get this to post....

By the way, your tank looks great already, like everybody said.
