    Hi Guys,
    I have an Oranda that has been sick with dropsy. he started getting fat and I thought it was natural. but he started to look like gonna explode and now he sits below the tank in a corner. Is there anyway to treat dropsy?

    Dropsy is a type of bacterial infection that can be very tough to treat in more advanced stages.

    You might want to look into feeding him food with bacterial meds in it. That way the meds will get to the internal bacterial causing this a lot quicker.

    I would also be completely some larger daily waterchanges until things turn around for him.
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    is my grey fish affected by dropsy?
    the gold colored died, i feel the grey one is affected as well..

    Looks like a normal fat healthy goldfish to me. Orandas as all other fancy golds are a bit deformed and have large round bodies. The fish does not appear to be abnormally descended nor does it appear to have the pine cone effect of the scales.

    my gold fantail had the same issue. i ignored it first thinking the same reason,
    eventually his eyes started to bulge, huge belly and started resting at one corner before he passed away..

    how will i know for sure before its too late?

    will update a better quality pic tonight when i get home..

    this evening, i put him in a bucket for half hr with some epsom salt.
