So normally I would breed darker color Betta's, but I have a white female crowntail. How can I tell when shes ready to breed. If you day look for lines they only show up on dark colored Betta's. thanks:)

Betta breeding is a very tricky process... first a lot of high quality foods must be fed. The betta will look almost like a pregnant molly she gets so fat... then you need a propper male whos seasoned and blowing bubble nests... they then need to be put in the same small area and you must monitor them heavily because the male is very abusive and deaths happen if you dont pay attention to them.

there is a 13 part series on youtube all about betta breeding if you do some searching.

Ah if its just color dif then you shouldnt be concerned. The same shape, same everything and usually will see a blackish tinge to the belly.

Ok thank you i am breeding two pairs right now but the first male that's nice looks like he is going to breed tonight because the female is now showing no fear and swimming up to the bubble nest. but my other pair is doing terrible the male is not trying to kill the female but he built a really small bubble nest and it got destroyed and he is completely avoiding the female and not flaring at her at all should i just separate them again and get a new male. Also it would be awesome is someone could explain trans shipper.

If the male isnt ready I would seperate for two weeks, get them fed up and try again. If it doesnt work after a few months then yes get another male.

Trans shippers are people who recieve a package and re-ship it. As if you were getting fish from Germany - you would send from there to a trans shipper who then sends to you.

Often in my experience if the female is unhappy with the nest she will destroy it. Try again in a few weeks after some TLC and good conditioning, however do remember that some pairs are just not meant to be! Betta breeding is great fun when it is successful! :) You should post a few pics of these beautiful fish! I used to spawn bettas a lot but have moved on to designing a creative community tank - betta's where too time consuming on the whole for me, and after a few successes I had had enough, ready to try something new :)
