Good morning AC folks . I just had to restart my pump on my little outdoor pond and while cleaning the inlet on the pump I discovered TWO small fish that had not originally been placed in the pond !!!!!!!!!!!! How rare or not is it for Comets to pair up and breed in captivity? The pond is a 155gallon trough connected to another 55 gallon garden pond that I have in my backyard . No filter system , just plants and flowing water . Its been running about 3 years now and is home to 6 comets . Male to female ratio unknown . Is this a common happening or was I a lucky one . Im excited either way !! I'll try to post pic of pond but if it doesn't come up Ill post it on the AC's FB page if William will allow it .
ask ?'s and change some water pair of JD's and loving it.

Congrats! It happens very easily in captivity. It may not have happened before when the pump was working in full force (fry gets sucked up by pump). If you want more fry, find the appropriate coarse sponge over the inlet of the filter to prevent fry from getting sucked in.

Congratulations! New fish is always neat. I hope you post pictures of them here. I don't have a facebook and would love to see them.
People say if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all... Then they wonder why am I so quiet.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

I couldn't get a pic of the fish but i'm getting one of the pond itself . Warning it will not be a great looking pond at this time , i'm allowing the grass and other plants surrounding it to grow wild until next spring in the hopes of filling in the area of yard surrounding it , but I believe it will look good next spring after pruning and cutting the grass . Please bear with me and don't criticize it too HARSHLY . LOL I'm trying to download tapatalk on my phone or would you suggest an easier way to post pics from my phone?

Can't you upload the pictures from your phone to your forum gallery then post them here as an attachment?
