  1. Question Questions about Molly fish (help pls)

Ok so I have 2 questions.... my first question is does my female molly look pregnant? She has gotten quite large but maybe she is just a big fish? you can see the size differences between her and my other black/white molly who is quite a bit smaller. My second question is... is my other molly male or female? in this pic it looks like it is male as the anal fin in long but I have seen it open up into more of a fin looking one not as big as the other mollys anal fin but I am wondering can this be a male? the pet store said they are both females but almost always when I look at him it is looking like a male... so is it a female or is it possible for the male anal fin to open to a bigger fin at times? I am new to the whole fish thing so bare with me please :) (last pic is the unknown sex) 10004075_10153893358210398_987706101_n.jpg1959269_10153893358070398_619010864_n.jpg1625558_10153893357890398_676927393_n.jpg

Yep the spotted one is male, and when you have a male and female together they will almost always breed so I would assume the female is pregnant.

The darker, fatter, one is obviously female. The one in the last picture has its fins clamped down so I can't be sure. Female mollies get pregnant every month, and the females can get pregnant up to 3 times without a male present. They could easily both be females, but without a better picture of the 2nd one I can't be sure.

I agree with ratsmax. It looks like a male only because females don't tend to clamp their anal fin.

I agree - looks like you got one very pregnant female and 1 male - get ready to have lots of fry - you can get anywhere from 1 to 10+ in a batch depending on how many the female has had prior. Usually they have few the first time and increases after each pregnancy

1175268_10153898179965398_306565126_n.jpg here is another pic of the smaller one who I am not sure if it's a male. I think you can see his anal fin is not so clamped and this is why I question the sex of this fish?

ok thanks... I am assuming it's male if my other one is preggers as I have had them for 4 or so months now so if she was preggers from before I got her she would have had the babies by now.. I think. The fish in the last pic I posted beside my molly blue/gold with a black tail... does anyone know what kind of fish that is?

It's a platy. Please don't buy fish without knowing their requirements for proper care.
