Question ADF's in a in tank kritter keeper?

    0 Not allowed!
ok so I was online and saw a pic of a African dwarf frog and remembered how I had one in a 55 gallon about 6 years ago it only lasted 3-6 days I suspect it was from not being fed at the fish store because there were tetras in the tank at the fs so I want to get a small pet keeper from petco and keep some in my 10 gal in the pet keeper but I have a few questions how many can I keep in there? could I keep some snails or shrimp in there? what do I feed them? and answers, questions, or comments appreciated.

Why not just put one in your 10g?
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I have a crawfish and if I put in a divider it will just climb over it.

Well, my opinion is those kritter keepers aren't big enough to put anything live in and it seems your tank can't have both crawfish and an ADF. That is just my opinion, maybe someone else will come along with good reason why it's ok to use a kritter keeper.

Nah, I'm thinking it's a bad idea too. ADF can be pretty active, and they also need room to move around in. Plus, you would have to be careful of getting a pocket of ammonia/waste. There would be little circulation in the critter keeper unless you give it another filter....and, whatever size you get, you are subtracting from the amount of gallons that the original inhabitants have to live in.

But there may be some plus sides...I dunno, I've never done it. :)
20 gallon with a male betta, neons, glowlights, and red cherry shrimp. (work in progess) Recently added a few LIVE plants and driftwood, Woooohoooo!

Agreed. That's not enough space. If you really want to keep ADFs it would be much better for the frogs if you dedicated another tank to them.

I have to agree... the only thing those keepers are good for are crickets and mealworms. I've had a couple ADFs and they are very active. Even a 10g wouldn't be good for them. I would have to say that for even younger ones, a 20g long would be the smallest you could go.
