When I was a teenager, I gleefully purchased two beautiful female bettas and popped them in an established tank with a male. This tank was alongside teo others I had, all linked via the same water system. One of the female tore up the other female, killed my precious male, then she must have flipped into the tank next door and attacked my guppies, of which one later died, because that's where I found her.
They can be very vicious indeed. I had no clue at the time :(

There are a lot of different opinions about keeping Bettas and I sure most of them are correct but I think it depends on the temperment of the Bettas.

I breed betta's and the other day i put a male and female together( double half moon and double tail) and i went to check on them and the male was on the surface of the water and looked like a crown tail with less tail. he is recovering slowly and his fins are starting to grow back. This just goes to show you its not just the males that are aggressive.
