I sat watching my tank for over half an hour last night, giggling over all the antics. My husband smiled at me and shook his head. I am finally happy with my stocking!
My cherry shrimps just came in, and at day 3 they are still doing awesome. They were exactly what I needed. They are everywhere eating algae...even off the glass, which I did not anticipate. There was a wide range of ages, so some were very small, and some larger....but I never realized how large my first shrimp had grown until the others were in there. He is literally as big or bigger than some of my neons. A monster! I hadn't seen him in a week, but I think the others encouraged him to come out. They look like they are dancing when they eat.
And I was watching my betta peek out from his little "cave"- a gap in the driftwood. He was prowling around the tank looking at all the new shrimp...I don't think he's decided if they are food or not yet, lol. The shrimp just ZOOM away from him, so I am not worried.
And the neons and glowlights were chasing each other in and around my fake log stump....so cute!
It's just so active and peaceful at the same time...I love my tank!
P.S. I checked my params last night because I was worried about the new stock....~5ppm nitrate. Those live plants I added are awesome!
