I used to have guppies when i was younger and we had a plant i have no idea what the name was but it was like seaweed and it floated at the top and grew like crazy.. Can anyone help me find out what it is or recommend what plants to get for them?

The plant you had was probably Hornwort.

You can have literally any plant with guppies as they do not bother plants. The best idea for you would be to figure out what plants you like and decide what lighting, substrate, and upkeep you want to do on the tank and choose plants accordingly.

I'm going to guess that it might have been anacharis.

I agree completely with the previous poster, you can put any plant you like with guppies, they're very plant friendly.
