Unfortunately I lost 2 of the golds...no obvious signs of disease. New tank thus I just treated it as the QT...I dosed my typical round of Prazi and Metro with a bit of Aquari-Sol. Just bad stock I suppose.

I also had my 130watt PC crap out on me...so the tank has been growing under standard tank lighting for the past few weeks. Surprisingly good growth...I did opt to simply put a double bulb shoplight on the tank. The SO constructed a canopy for the tank which is waiting for its paint to dry...I will update photos this weekend.

sorry about the gold fish. It's always upsetting when you lose a fish - even more so when you don't really know what happened.
Hope you have better luck with the next 2.

Eh, its the commercial fish trade...you buy crap fish most of the time that need a ton of work to get to a healthy state.

Joint custody....a little fake with a little natural. We will be removing the airstone when the Vals grow too large to see it. It is honestly just in there to appease the SO for awhile. We also have a rainbow colored LED light in the tank which comes on after the main light goes off...the fish probably think they are in some sort of LCD inspired sitcom.

Truthfully I dont mind the Buddha, it blends with the rock....now that airstone irritates me.

LOL...don't you mean LSD? I like the Budda, been looking for one for my tank but haven't found it yet. I'm not sure why, but air stones really irritate me as well.
When in doubt, do a water change.

Im the same on airstones... I feel like it is sacrilege to put one in a tropical tank but I can stand it in a GF tank.

Glad to know Im not alone on the airstone stance. I am tolerating this one till the Vals hide it then Im going to pull it outa there. The SO has also decided that airstones are not as attractive as they once appeared to be.

I found this Buddha at Petsmart...chose it mainly since it would blend with the rock.
