I thought this was understood since the OP stated they would be in QT. I doubt the fish had columnaris anyway. Columnaris hits fast and hard. It will wipe out a tank in days, not two of the fish in weeks. But better safe than sorry.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

From what I understand her tank did get wiped pretty fast. She has had a few other posts about it as well.
40 gallon FW -1 male halfmoon betta named Max, 2 GBR's (Peter and Lois) who better clean up their act, 11neon tetras (damn GBR's killed one), 12 black neon tetras, 2 assassin snails, and 1 albino BN pleco named Tiberius.

my tank wasnt wiped out. I lost a cory the day after i noticed a spot on it's fin. I started medication the same day i saw a spot. went through the full fungus treatment, did another round to be sure and lost the other cory to the same spot a week or 2 later. those were the only 2 i lost, knock on wood. I've done the full treatment for columnaris but I am still very wary of adding anything new to my tank because I don't want to risk introduction of something else or getting a new fish sick.

I have a 20g that has a sanded bottom and a large hollow log that I was going to use to qt if i decided to get the corys. So they wouldn't be spending a long time in a bare tank becoming more stressed. I only considered adding them because our LFS is very small and often the pandas they get go very quickly or don't make the shipping and they have 2 looking sad in a graveled tank and that happened to be the same number I lost. If the general consensus was my 5 would thrive with just five or that the new corys would be fine in quarantine for several weeks I would think more seriously about getting them.

I don't deal well with death, even fish. My hubby says this hobby isn't right for me because I cried when both fish died but in my opinion it only means I will give everything i can to having a healthy environment for anything I bring home. That being said, I have a lot to learn which is why I turn to you guys. :) and I so appreciate the guidance.

I have five cories in my 46. They seem to do fine with that number.

5 corys will do ok, 7 will do better, it's up to you. If you choose to get the two, they will be fine for a month in QT by themselves. It's long term that would be the problem with only two, not QT time.
