  1. Default Stocking a 55g planted tank

I've got a 55g tank that I'd like to add some fish to. Currently, I have my favorite angelfish, a bolivian ram, 5 peppered cories, and a young bristlenose pleco living in it. Are there any cichlids between the size of the ram and the angel that could fit in peacefully? I've also got a fair amount of plants, so something that won't try and eat them or dig them up would be preferred.

I would personally add an additional ram of the opposite gender to the one you have. Keyhole cichlids, Festivums, and Checkerboard cichlids are also good options. I also think it would be best if you upped your group of cories to 8-10 members they tend to be more active and comfortable in larger numbers.

Thanks for the reply. I actually started out with two bolivians, but one of them was pale and sickly from the start and recently died. How would I go about determining the sex of the one I have left? Also, thanks for suggesting checkerboard cichlids. They are beautiful, and I wasn't really familiar with them previously.
