I just got my order in on some T-316 Stainless steel mesh.
Little different then what I had before.
This time its a bit thinner, So shipping cost a bit cheaper for me and you because of the weight. AND it's much easier to cut~!!!
People use this ss mesh for tying down mosses, making moss walls, Filter guards and more~!!!

Your prices are pretty good, especially for customized stuff - but if anyone is looking for larger quantities....
and a small manufacturer with great customer service can be seen here:
Compare pricing on the 316 mesh before you buy.
Also - most manufacturers will send you samples. this way you can take a look at what you want/need before you commit.
h4n - I pm'ed you about some filter guards a few days ago but haven't heard back. Check your messages when you get a chance.
I received a couple custom filter guards from h4n today, they seem really well made and they arrived quite a lot faster than I expected. I had him make 2 guards at a custom size that I plan on attaching to a PVC intake manifold I'm making for my FX5. Thanks again h4n!
Just got my two filter guards installed for my aquaclear 110s, will be posting all sorts of pics in the morning
Awesome, looking forward to the pics and your opinions.
My review of the SS Filter Guards
So I received my filter guards in the mail today, I ordered 2 AC 110 ones from H4N and had some tight constraints they needed to fit to go in my background...
Are these the small or large hole mesh size? And why did you pick that hole size?
I had ordered the "larger mesh" because I wasn't worried about fry or shrimp in this tank, first thoughts were that they were sturdy. If you look at where it overlaps, it is actually "weaved" together, this prevents the diameter from shrinking or getting bigger (if it were just overlapped). I was able to put some force on these without any bend
The rubber is on there very well, looks like it is melted on after the thing is completed... I honestly feel like this could come standard with aquarium filters and it would look professionally done
once installed the filter didn't appear to notice, I will be ordering these for my two AC30s and my eheim canister... if you had been even thinking about picking these up, I'd say go for it
