    0 Not allowed!
I will be getting a cichlid tomorrow and I just want to make sure i have feeding right

    commercial-
    Spirolina flakes
    Omega One Cichlid Pellets
    Omega One cichlid Flakes
    Hikari Mini Pellets

    Frozen-
    Bloodworms

Live- bred in my own tanks
    Platy fry
    ramshorn snails

Anything I am forgetting? I know Hikari is not the best but I want them to get use to pellets and I ordered large omega one on accident

Diet depends on the species of cichlid, but I've found that NLS Cichlid or Grow pellets, veggie flake, and occasionally canned green beans works well for a number of different fish, including cichlids.

    ^^^^Please click the eggs/dragons, thanks.

I got a convict. And Omega one is second only to NLS ... but my LFS carries Omega One so I use that. I also have omega one veggie pellets I can add to his diet :) or her ... Its not mature yet.

You may also want to consider food made by Ken's Fish

I had started using their products a year or two ago (due to less chemical additive that I could not pronounce) and am very happy with the results in my cichlids and tetras. NLS is still a very good quality brand tho. I though I would give you another option to consider
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
