Set the bag in the water for about 30 minutes than slowly added small amounts of water until it was full, took half the water out and added small amounts until it was full again, then transferred the fish with a net to the tank.

Very good, slow acclimation is very important with these guys. Try what we have suggested and keep an eye on them. Remember to keep the lights out, also feed just enough that they can eat within a couple of minutes. Stress can be a killer.

Keep us in the loop, Rummys are worth the time and effort, one of my favorite fish.

Well the sickest one is laying on the floor gasping for breath and my gourami is trying to eat him. Should I euthanize him? I really wish I could set up a hospital tank but i cannot. Several of the other tetras on close inspection seem to be fuller and have "white internals" but none have what i would consider the ulcer that this one had. Some of them also have a white almost velvet patch on them, but it is hardly visible any only at a certain angle of light. I am trying to be ultra critical hear of any problems. The kanaplex and paraguard got shipped today, so they may be here by the end of the week. All remaining tetras are happy, swimming, eating, and schooling together. I would say 3-4 have either a big belly or a strange sheen to them and other 7 look perfect besides have dim colors.

I have taken the dying tetra out and have euthanized him.

That was a good call. I was afraid you were going to lose him. Sorry

Did you have an opportunity to call your LFS?

I'd tell them when you got them, that you've lost one already and many of the others came with nipped fins and now appear to be ill. Do you still have your sales receipt? I figure they'll want that. You might have to keep the dead one (in the freezer) to return as proof.
Ask them to refund your money. *you don't want more sick rummy's * OR to give you credit until they get another batch in and you can try again.
    Good luck.
