    Not for a new aquarium, but what a beauty! A school of 12 would make a heavily planted 29 gal a species tank for this fish only - no tankmates. Would be an awesome tank. You could keep your cycle going for 2-3 months, then add them.

    I just added some more IAL to my tanks, boy they decompose fast.

    I've got a lot of hardwoods in my yard. I wonder if hickory or oak leaves would be ok.

    My IAL's don't seem to decompose very fast, they usually last a few weeks.....Rob, I know oak leaves are fine, I will be collecting some of the large ones from my neighbor's tree this fall (not sure what kind of oak it is, there's a ton of different ones in Texas, but the leaves almost resemble maple leaves, quite large)....not sure about hickory, though

    Yeah you showed that to me before. My memory is terrible. lol I'd like to try those alder cones. I just think they look cool. If I ever get to do a small samurai gourami tank I want those....
