    Question Rams Fin Nippers?

    0 Not allowed!
Are rams fin nippers? I've got a blue balloon body ram and he acts very territorial with my other fish.

yes, cichlids(including rams) are generally territorial animals. the degree of aggression varies from species to species, with rams on the lower scale.
however, they still are capable of displaying aggression to other fish.
what tank size are you keeping the ram in?

They are not fin nippers but they are as mentioned above territorial animals and they might injure the fins of other fish claiming and protecting their territory.
Do as I say. Not as I do.

ALL Cichlids can be territorial and can lead toward aggression. Do you have any defined territories established in your tank? What size tank do you have? What other fish do you have in the tank?

It's a 29 gal, and, of today(got new fishies!), there's 3 platies, 6 harlequin rasbora, 1 bristlenose pleco, and a shebunkin goldfish with him.
My first fish, Lollipop, passed away in 2013. I'd had her for 5 years; got her from the fair.

Beautiful planted tanks! Wish I was this good!
