There is Karma
At the local club meeting, a friend of a member that passed away brought me a box of fish, he said that Conrad, the member that passed away, had talked to him after the last meeting and meant to give these to me
He handed me a large styro and said keep the box and walked away. Well of course I'm going to open it lol. So I look inside and this is what I see:
1 Bag of 3 male blue gularis
1 bag of 5 female blue gularis
1 bag with a trio of spoorenbergi
1 bag with a pair of spoorenbergi
I had just sold my other spoorenbergi, and really don't have the room for this many fish. The one guy at my table all but had a heart attack when we opened the box and kept saying "give me a price... right now, what do you want for them?" But I just asked if he had the tank space for them, and then Mike (my plant guy) came over and was ooo'ing and ahh'ing. So we split open the box among the 3 of us with the agreement not to sell them since they had been a gift. I came home with a trio of the blue gularis, so looking them up today, I see they are asking $50 a pair on liveaquaria.
So needless to say these guys have a new happy home and are going to be spoiled. Hopefully I'll get fry too
I was just in shock, since I had only gotten to talk to Conrad once, but he had planned to bring all these fish to me just because he wanted to get me started on Killies

Conrad passed part of his legacy on to a very good fish keeper, someone that has a similar passion for the hobby as his. Title of this thread says it all Hardy. When in doubt, do a water change.
"This ain't rocket science!"

I'm only new here so I don't know any of the background, but what a lovely memory. People live on in the marks they make on this world, even if those marks are fish. xx55g planted: 10x adult guppies, 9x kuhli loaches, 7x black neons, 2x neons, 6x Amano shrimp, assassin snails & cherry shrimp
10g planted: Occasional platies & black devil trumpet snail

Be careful what you put them with. I looked these up a while ago because they were so pretty and it turns out they get something like 4-5 inches long as are quite predatory.
An empty 10 would be nice for them.
Otherwise, congratulations for your awesome gift!
