yea, heaters are the thing I'm lacking and haven't been able to afford, at $20-25 a pop for the Jagers its a bit tough.

I did get "permission" from the Mrs to set up 1 more tank - we have a deal where for every book shelf she has, I get a tank lol. Not allowed to set up the 75 since I promised that I'd sell it to buy the new 75. My only problem is that the tank needs to be in the basement, which right now is pretty cold

How cold? There are plenty of fish and other critters that like cooler temperatures

    White clouds
    Hillstream loaches
    Australoheros
    Gymnogeophagus
    Goodeids
    Paradise fish
    North American natives
    Many barb species
    Many freshwater gobies
Florida flagfish and some other killis
    Certain corydoras
    Nerites
    Amano shrimp

The list goes on and on.

I'd say its probably 60 in my basement... I've have to try a thermometer down there to see how cold.

Ask for a heater for the basement. As far as the Weed Wacker goes, would you be using it to trim the plants in your tanks? Lol. I'm sorry, I got a really funny image in my mind when I saw that.

I use the weed wacker to do trimming of the grass along the pavers, sidewalks, etc.

I rely on the cold to kill the weeds

I just picture someone sticking a weed wacker inside of an aquarium (heavily planted like a jungle) and going to town wearing all the safety equipment (goggles, tyvek suit, gloves, respirator.) Hundreds of people standing around watching and taking pictures, saying OMG!, what the #$%& is this person doing!!? haha
