Thumbs up Courgette - OM NOM NOM!

I tend to feed fresh veggies to my shrimp about once a fortnight...whenever we have anything in that's suitable for them really. I put a slice of courgette in a ramekin full of boiling water for about five minutes before cooling it and hanging it in the shrimp tank. Here's what was eaten.

These were taken after about an hour. Spot the random yellow shrimp in my hybridised collection!

    12 hours later.

    20 hours.

Yeah - they'll struggle if you don't soften it first. I've fed it completely raw before and they only eat the softest parts.

I think their favourite is spinach though...that gets demolished down to the stem. And that only needs dipping in hot water before feeding. I've also fed that raw before and it was consumed without any problems (but took a bit longer).

these are some nice tips. I tried to find some zucchini while I was at the store this weekend but they had none must be a seasonal thing up here.

Great picts! My BNP and snails go through zucchini like that. Once I found 2 apple snails fit perfectly inside the rind, filling it completely. By the time I got back to the tank with my camera, the rind had broken so I didn't get a pict.

Love the pics! Looks like those shrimp had a wonderful feed! I've always wondered though...it must be difficult to do water changes with those little guys everywhere!
