    Cool Huge Filtration

A large, and (to me) slightly odd, tank build! The filtration is immense!

My only issue with this video actually is how sterile the environment is for those rays. They don't even have sand to investigate. Hmmm...that's not right to me. No environmental stimulation at all.

I would love something like that, but in a bigger room where I can enjoy it from more than one side.

I do like how he used two 55 gallon barrels for a sump system. I'll have to look into the media he used. I have been reading about more and more people using it but I really don't know a lot about it.

Not that I know anything about sumps (other than what I've seen on here) but I've not heard of that filter media either. I really liked the basket with the filter floss in it. Great idea.

From what I understand, it is a new design on bio-balls that is intended to be used in a fluidized (moving) filter set-up. The theory, as I understand it, is that as this K1 filter media moves around, it will be self cleaning as well as promote new BB growth. It's really hard to find first hand experience with this media. likely because it has only started to become popular

Ah right, ok, I get it. That sounds neat...if it actually works. Thanks for the info.

Anybody got a time index on that filter stuff so I don't have to watch the most boring ray tank ever?
