So I was at my LFS yesterday and they got some of this twisted rosewood in, this stuff isn't cheap let me tell ya. So since I'm sticking with an orangish brown them to go with the Kois I decided to buy a piece and try it. Sure enough, once wet it had the color I wanted. Here's a few pics of it, moved a few rocks as well and the red plant on the left will be replaced with a long narrow piece of Malaysian driftwood once I find the right piece. There's a reflcetion from the blinds on the left hand side of the full tank pic if your wondering what the vertical lines are.

Looks good, you have an excellent selection of driftwood there. Really nice pieces...although I'd love to see some plants in it.

I'm kind of shying away from the plants in this one. My other 55g is live planted and that's enough for me.

How about just a few anubias or java ferns attached to the wood? It just looks so much nicer with a splash of green here and there. If it's a definite no I'll shut up about it...I promise.

It looks great. Allthough I too would like to prefer a few plants. With a slightly different twist though. I would like to see a couple of floating ferns on the surface. I can see you not wanting to deal with plants but floating ferns require next to no work.
Do as I say. Not as I do.
