So I am curious, what is the point of his experiment.
I had the same thought... BUT then I got to thinking. What if there are benefits to adding green, white or black teas to the aquarium? Perhaps he'll discover a beneficial supplement that'll keep fish healthier over time, since we already know they're a good source for anti-oxidants. You never know until you try. ;] I doubt the caffeine from a tea bag would harm the fish, but if used over time, it could probably stunt their growth.

An odd experiment, but science is built on the basis of curiosity, isn't it? I imagine there are plenty of coffee beans and tea leaves that find themselves in ponds, lakes, rivers, etc. throughout the world that cause little effect to aquatic animals.

By white tea I'm assuming you're not suggesting adding milk and sugar as well?

Good thing the OP wasn't drinking a beer last night while watching his tank
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
