My 4 fout tank will be a general community, while my 3 foot will be an amazon tank.
my 4 foot has 3 3 spot guarami's, one pleco - common, a rts and a betta male. a good couple swords and a few trimmings from other plants that i am
growing out, most of the swords will go into the three foot once im done with all the research and equipement has been bought. Currently running two powerheads and one two hundred watt heater. changing over to an external in the next few days.

Is there no aggression between the gouramis and the betta?
And how big is the red tail shark? I'd be expecting aggression issues with it, especially as it matures.

In my experience red tail sharks are peaceful in an establish aquarium. Sharks are territorial, but should be fine in a big aquarium such as a 55g/75g. Keep in mind that the common pleco will get to about 1 foot over a long period of time. You shouldn't have to worry about it now though.

there is no aggresion between gaurimis and betta, no chasing at all or fin nipping. the red tail is still a juvinile and the pleco is about 8 or 9 cm. tank size is a 64 gallon four foot. the pleco and rts is the only fish for the bottom half i would keep in this tank, although the pleco does come up now and again to the top while on the glass. im stuck for the middle part of the 4 footer though

I too have kept a Red tail Black shark with a pleco (rubber-lipped bulldog pleco), and the only time they get into each others face is over an algae wafer. The tank was a 55 gallon 4 footer. I usually put in two wafers when they matured, one on each end of the tank to keep them apart. The shark being bigger usually gave in as the pleco has more moxie. Both fish are still doing fine as they were transfered to my son's tank when I turned that 55 gallon into a reef tank.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

A school of Tiger barbs may not be a great idea. They love to nip at the fins of slower fish like your Betta and gourami's. You have the right idea about having a school of 10 tigers but I'm afraid as time goes by they will take advantage of the slower stock. I have never tried what your proposing but I have had tiger barbs before and they do get rough.

Any one kept glowlight tetras before. I need 1 nice schooling fish to finish the tank off nicely.

I have 3 glow light tetras that hang out with my 5 black neon tetras. They have been in my tank for 3 months and doing fine.
